Trying to remember a book series
Hi All.

I'm trying to remember a book series that I read years ago.

It was a fantasy series with a mage/magician/wizard who lived in Germany (the book is in English) and he could teleport among other things. He was fighting demons.

His best mate was a werewolf and they were detained in a facility underground, and I think it's where they met.

There is also a young woman they discover who has great power.

At one point the good guys teleport to hell (?) and they release a bunch of people who were held captive.

The series is similar to The Dresden Files.

Any ideas?

I read the books maybe four, maybe five years ago, but I have no idea when they actually came out.

The Realm of False Gods series by Steve Higgs? "A Wizard in (or Battle for) Bremen" is used in several of the subtitles.

I'm not familiar with it at all, but the blurb includes phrases like:

... wizard detective, Otto Schneider ...
... underground cell ...
... recruit a snarky werewolf ...
... invade the demon realm and rescue a little girl ...

I had some remembrance of his name being "Harry", I think because at some point he refers to Harry Dresden by Jim Butcher.

Man, was I off.
