I've never had a price match request denied, and I use it a lot. I track books on Amazon until they reach a good price, and then buy from Kobo and get a refund via the price match guarantee.

I'm surprised Kobo don't make more of the price match. If I'd really understood it, i'd have switched years ago!

Blackheart Man by Nalo Hopkinson is $2 in the US (Kobo, Amazon)
Was on my wishlist. One of the best books of last year.

My concern is if they don't price match because sale is over then I've greatly overpaid.
Today there is a book on Amazon for 1.99 but Kobo is 7.99. It's too late in the day to try for the price match with offices closed. I'm not willing to take that risk.

Can you attach a screenshot in the pricematch form? Been a while since I did one, but I've never once had an issue. And I used to do it a fair amount.

I don't think there is a spot for one in the request form but I put a note that I have a screenshot when filling out the form. I've only been asked for the screenshot once when I was asking Kobo to price match a 1 day sale on Amazon. I had the screenshot and there were no issues with getting the refund. That one time is the only time I was asked for it. The one other time I requested a price match on a 1 day sale, I think they looked at the "I've got a screenshot" and decided just to process the refund.

No, there isn't. I just looked.

Also, for those in the US we aren't credited the sales tax after the price match.

Screenshots (and web pages in general) are trivial to forge so I don't understand why it's evidence of anything.

No, a screenshot isn't proof, but it seems like Kobo is generally pretty relaxed about pricematching. At least that's been my experience. If people start abusing it, that might change.

I've been asked for a screenshot a handful of times, and I've applied for (and generally got) 65+ price matches. I think only 1 or 2 were rejected in the end. As part of my price match process, I automatically take a screenshot (especially if the Amazon price is a Daily Deal).

I was rejected once, when my request was handled after the price went back up. Pointing to the price in Google's cache, or ereaderiq, didn't help. I did not take or "fake" a screenshot.

Now I wait for the price match to go through before downloading the file from the ADE server, to at least have the opportunity to request a refund.
