Mr. X by Peter Straub is $2 at Amazon, B&N and Kobo US. I've been watching this one for a long time and it has never dropped this low before. I don't know where this ranks in Straub's canon, but I loved it when I first read it. Straub explores Lovecraft. Highly recommended by me from twenty-five years ago. And I always loved the Stephen King blurb for this one. Quote:

I don't remember the bulk of the story or the characters. But I remember the beginning, end and some bits in the middle. I do remember the book had more of a southern gothic vibe than Lovecraft, though there is a lot of focus on Lovecraft's writings in the story.

Valancourt Their tweet description -- Two new $2.99 Kindle deals are live worldwide! Lisa Tuttle's 2023 weird fiction volume RIDING THE NIGHTMARE is full of spooky gems to make your skin crawl. Or if you want something laugh-out-loud funny, try Cyril Kersh's (brother of Gerald Kersh) THE AGGRAVATIONS OF MINNIE ASHE. Riding the Nightmare Amazon Link The Aggravations of Minnie Ashe --- Including this but it seems to be comedy and not horror, maybe dark comedy? No clue, didnt look into it that much |

The Hellgate: A Horror Novel Collection by Doug Lamoreux is $1 at Amazon, B&N and Kobo US. So far, I've only read The Devil's Bed and I enjoyed it. He has another interesting book called Dracula's Demeter (not in this collection). Quote:
