Also apparently the new Basic is a little faster and has more or brighter LEDs. But then why is it stuck in the 11th generation?

what do you all mean by eliminating the gap on scribe? the distance from actual panel and flush "screen" there is? are we sure this is the case? cause looking at different vids and pics, it really just look like the bezel is exactly the same, just with different colors. I might be wrong, vut even that black/green part it actually looks like at the same level of the white margin next to it, so it seems like nothing else than an illusion.

My assumption is there is no longer such a gap with the new design, but I have yet to see any confirmation.

Oh now i get it, yeah it doesn't bother me but i noticed at first too on my scribe... I thought it was about the distance from the actual eink , that i feel is a little too much but i guess it's only natural between all the layers for touchscreen and pen writing

The green scribe I want but too much $$. I may wait till a color version is out in a few years. To me 7" is too small for a color ereader.

Me too. I do not see a need to upgrade to a new scribe if it's not going to also be a color device.

Given that it's actually the same gen with same internal and just a slightly diff bezel, it only makes sense is how they're saying, luckily.

The speed may just be that the screen is updated to Carta 1300 (and new LEDs), but the rest of the electronics are the same. If they didn't change anything else then it's not a full new device, just a revision.

Not quite right. The pixel density is the same at 300 ppi so you get a few more pixels on the screen. The 6.8" display gives you 1236×1648 pixels while the 7" display gives you 1264×1680 so 28 pixels wider and 32 pixels taller. Oh, be still my heart!

Is there a page that compares/contrasts the original Scribe with the "new and improved" Scribe? I've got the original and wonder if there's any reason I need the new one. I only read on it.

Any information on whether the Signature Edition/Colorsoft has automatic screen rotation?
