I have kept testing your plugin and I’ve also found that I can’t make it work for automatic imports. Should it work if there are other plugins that also process metadata when importing a new book file? I already have GetFileName and Action Chains working together so I can get some of my custom columns filled when importing new books. |

Yes, it works with GetFileName or Action Chains. Beside, ePub Extended Metadata is called before them.
I also resolve the bug that make the plugin fail. Last edited by un_pogaz; 07-29-2024 at 03:59 AM. |

Hi, is it possible to read/write dc:creator as well, or is it only working for contributors?

Only contributors. The Calibre behavior is that any dc:creator are imported as "Authors".

For me, <dc:creator id="creator2"> doesn't get shown in Authors tab in calibre (unless I edit the opf itself) which causes issues when sending books to device that does show creators as authors. But ty for letting me know; hoping to find a plugin that somehow fixes this.

Hmm, can you please restart calibre in debug mode, sub-menu of the preference button, reproduce the bug and then send here a copy of the text that will open after closing Calibre (or the all text file)

Hmm, I see where the problem is coming from, your custom columns #mm_annotations are technically malformed, wich is very strange because it should never happen.
So, how was this column created? By another plugin? Or is it a very old library and herefore a very old columns? And how does it render in Calibre? Plain text or HTML? In any case, I add here a test version with a fix, please can you confirm that it work now? thanks. Last edited by un_pogaz; 10-09-2025 at 04:42 AM. |

Hi,
I downloaded a book from standard ebooks and then tried to import the translator metadata using this plugin, but it did not work. After some investigation I found that the book contains multiple fields tagged to one entry, For example: <meta property="role" refines="#translator" scheme="marc:relators">ann</meta> <meta property="role" refines="#translator" scheme="marc:relators">trl</meta> <meta property="role" refines="#translator" scheme="marc:relators">wpr</meta> But if I edit the opf file and make it like this: <meta property="role" refines="#translator" scheme="marc:relators">trl</meta> It works correctly. Can you help me in making this plugin work without editing the opf file for each book? |

When I create the plugin, my assumptions was that only one "marc:relators" can be accepted by ids of "dc:contributor", but I admit that now that I look at it, it was a pretty dump assumption. Can you test the version attached to see if my fix work and that you can now import several "marc:relators" by "dc:contributor"? Last edited by un_pogaz; 10-17-2025 at 02:30 PM. |
