Say, I have three books, all by H.G. Wells. For whatever reason, I have put these in three different folders: /Genres/Fantasy /Genres/SciFi /Genres/Romance Also, in /Genres/SciFi I have the following sub-folders on my SD Card: /Genres/SciFi/Star Trek /Genres/SciFi/Star Trek/The Original Series /Genres/SciFi/Star Wars /Genres/SciFi/Blake's 7 In some of these folders are also books with author "H.G. Wells". Now, I like that I can see all books by "H.G. Wells" across all folders, but I also like that I can browse to /Genres/SciFi/Star Trek/The Original Series and only see the books that exist in that folder (regardless of author/collection/series/whatever defined in the .ePub file). ReadEra is the only eBook reader I have seen that allows me to browse among the imported files, "filtering" them on their location in the directory structure. I've found one other reader today that allows this, but unfortunately it had the same issue with rendering my text-aligned-to-image parts, so that one was uninstalled again as well. It says so in my profile on the left . I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ with all updates. Currently that means Android 13. Quote:
What I'm trying to say is that these other readers completely ignore the directory structure I have set up. I would get the exact same interface and browsing opportunities in the reader if I put all my 2000+ eBooks in one directory.

Hmmm. I totally get wanting to sort/filter by genre. I haven’t seen many eReaders that care what folder structure you have set on your computer. Instead I have seen where the book file itself has the genre selected in it’s metadata (.opf file). Then sorting/filtering is based on the capabilities of the app, not your folders. Luckily, Calibre allows you to edit the metadata of whole groups of books at once. It wouldn’t take that long to edit thousands of books. |

Why do I sometimes get a "moderator has to approve your message" and other times not? Just got one on my reply to you... Let's see if this one slips through...

Anytime someone says: "Dion, you’re absolutely correct- and super handsome, too!!" The moderators like to confirm. Don’t worry, it happens ALL the time… |

Not certain if the "humour" in the response by @Turtle91 was missed?

The !important tag allows you to override other settings even if they have higher specificity. OTOH, only use !important when it is absolutely needed since overuse can make debugging a PITA. At one time, I was editing a stylesheet where virtually every line ended in !important; and it made figuring out what was going on no fun. I finally ended up removing the !importants and then adding 1 set back which kept a button from changing background colour.
