Of course it's been that long since you twittered. I think you've been dead (er, freeze-dried) for at least that long. Poor bird - lost your twitter.

I have signed up, added a few people but I'm not using. Accessing it and finding hundreds of tweets to be read just made me quit instantly. Specially because most people use it to talk mundane and uninteresting things, as if they had to post something every X hours or even minutes. That's SPAM in my book. |

I've gottten a few requests from friends and have wondered about it. I have a half arsed open facebook account wandering around somewhere, and the other big social network that I can't even remember at the moment. so it seems thus far it is thumbs down huh? |

I love Twitter, since I mostly use it to connect with all my book blogger friends (and other book people: publishers, professional reviews, etc). I think it's fun! It's quicker than email and slower than chat (which makes me nervous), so it's perfect for my life at the moment. I don't use Facebook, though-- can't see the point. It's so chunky and I don't have use for most of the features, so Twitter it is. I don't know if it's a generational thing, or what. As soon as I discovered Twitter I very quickly understood how to use it for my benefit and how to get the most out of it. Is that because I'm in my early 20's or because of something else? (Also, Twitter is much more than just "I'm eating a sandwich." People who tweet things like that either don't have a lot of friends, are being ironic, or haven't figure out how to use Twitter well. Twitter's about conversation, and no-one wants to talk about a sandwich, do they? Anyway, there's lots of tips on using Twitter well on the internet; just Google it and you'll find them.) This post is so fragmented. Sorry 'bout that! |

I'm on Twitter, and while I don't Post much, I find it really handy for following Trends especially in Tech. I mainly follow Tech Personalities, so that I have a good Idea of what's happening, as sometimes a lot of things show up their first. BBusyB |

I'm on at twitter.com/gideony I use it way too much... And a lot of it is nonsense (especially now that I've lots of followers/follow lots) but I also have some great conversations and have met some amazing people on it. Last edited by Gideon; 04-22-2009 at 02:35 PM. |

I think Twitter is great. In the olden days I used to lie awake at night wondering what kind of salad dressing Aston Kutcher put on his salad for lunch that day or worrying if Lance Armstrong picked up his kids at school. Thanks to Twitter I sleep much better at night.
