I found the answer.

the default function of the KFX Output plugin is to use the calibre Tweaks functions for metadata.

In Preferences >Tweaks > Author sort name algorithm I changed the author_sort_copy_method = 'comma' to author_sort_copy_method = 'copy'

apply changes to tweak, restart calibre then convert to KFX. the metadata will be embedded in the KFX file.

Then the author name shows up as the first name then last name order in Kindle Previewer.
This will then display the name as first name last name in the Kindle.

Is 5.16.3 being delivered over-the-air to KT4 devices, or is it still 5.16.2.1.1?

I know it's being pushed to all the Mediatek devices, and it's available to manually download for the 10th generation.

I think that is only an issue for Scribe because of the switch to MTP. Seems to work for my other Kindles with this update.

yeah... I know..., hope Calibre devs find a way to get thumbnails of covers show properly because I doubt that amazon's going to solve this anytime soon...

Unless putting thumbnails on Kindle involves more than just copying a file over, that should still be entirely possible and relatively trivial to implement via MTP.

Previously you need to also copy the cover thumbnail to system/thumbnail on the device too (the folder is hidden by default over USB Mass Storage but it's there). That folder does not exist over MTP.

Not true. I can view the folder with Android File Transfer on Mac, and Explorer on Windows. Copy from and to, delete. No issue.

OpenMTP has some issue with it: it gets a listing, but disconnects immediately after. I assume it is a bug.

Sorry, I might be missunderstood, I was not complaining on Calibre's side, I was just hoping Calibre could adress it in some way, because I have more trust to them than to Amazon... Honestly, I think Amazon don't give a fuck about this issue.

Since having covers showing at the kindle implys to copy also those thumbnails at the proper folder from "system", is there any way wich may be we can do the process manually ?
