Does Kindle Paperwhite 10th gen support USB OTG out of the box?

I just got myself a kindle paper white. I would like to know if it supports USB OTG so that I may transfer files from my android phone to the kindle directly without needing a computer. Does USB OTG work with the Kindle paper white 10th gen? I have been using an cheap USB OTG cable and it doesn't seem to work. |

Even the most ancient eReaders work as storage on my oldest Android phone, a Sony-Ericsson. Make sure the "host end" is at the phone. Double check with a regular cable and a OTG adaptor, which are just passive wired, or with a different slave device to test cable. The ability or not of the ereader to support OTG is irrelevant as it has to be the regular USB client or slave. The phone has to be the host. |

Also, if it expects a partitioned drive, it won't work because the PW4 exports formatted unpartitioned drive. | |

It's even possible to use Android Browser and download files with DRM, FOR THAT REGISTERED KINDLE, assuming the javascript runs and your Android phone has a file browser that can "see" the mounted Kindle. It's irrelevant where the mobi, azw or azw3 files are on Android (SD card or internal) as long as the file browser / manager on the phone/tablet can "see" the local files and the Kindle files. You can also use a regular cable for USB-A to USB-B, mini-USB, micro-USB or USB-C that works with gadget/kindle to laptop/PC via an OTG adaptor that has a USB-A socket and the appropriate plug for phone/tablet. Kindle and most other ereaders can only be a client to some other system for file transfer, even if there is an OTG host mode (like on PW3 for USB audio). Some phones/tablets can be a host. |

No, the Kindle Paperwhite 10th gen does not support USB OTG out of the box, and using a cheap USB OTG cable is unlikely to make it work for transferring files directly from an Android phone to the Kindle.

Ohh! 🤣Not even close..I just make a collection from pdf and doc files that regard survival guides in general.Yeah,we live in weird times of history!!But even if someone did this, its clearly his own issue what to do with these files. Otherwise amazon just wouldn't this otg feature on her e-readers or these otg cables wouldn't be legal etc..
