I finished the Romanov Conspiracy, a good book. Went a totally different direction. Tad Williams' book Tailchaser's Song. A coming of age fantasy, but with cats.

I'm listening to the audio of Ray Bradbury's Death is a Lonely Business. I'd not ever heard of it, though I've read a lot of Bradbury. I'm enjoying it rather a lot so far. I'm reading Joanna Biggs' A Life of One's Own: Nine Women Writers Begin Again on my Kobo and continuing my chapter a day pace of War and Peace. |

I read The Witch King. Enjoyable and a worthwhile read. I hope she makes it into a series. YMMV

I've just started The Lost Girls of Willowbrook, by Ellen Marie Wiseman . I've always liked here books, although they can be a bit gut wrenching. This one no less so. I think I've read everyone of her books. My favorite of hers was The Plum Tree. Up next, Geraldine Brooks and her book Horse. |

Next up was The Hanging City by Charlie N. Holmberg. An enjoyable fantasy. And then there was Hunter, Elite and Apex by Mercedes Lackey. A most enjoyable post-apocalyptic fantasy trilogy. And now: Death before Facebook by Julie Smith. A Skip Langdon mystery. | |

I finished The Lost Girls of Willlowbrook, a haunting tale of conditions in Willowbrook school on Staten Island NY. Based on a true story of the institution. A quick read that I couldn’t put down. Horse by Geralding Brooks is what I’m starting today. Then I don’t know, I’m waiting for Ken Follet’s next Kingsbridge book to come out in Sept. May return to Shannara while I wait |

I finished Witch King a while back and LOVED it; one of my best reads of the year. It did start out weird and very 'not Murderbot'. Once I figured out the time jumping of the chapters, it was great. The trick, I think, is to just stick with it and let the story unfold. There is so much happening now (and in the past) all at once that it's a lot to follow. When I got to the last 1/3 it suddenly coalesced for me and the last part was an awesome ride!

Nearly finished INTIMATIONS OF EVIL, first of the Vhast series by Cary J. Lenehan. If you liked Lord of the Rings, I think you will like this one - although there is at least one chapter that Professor Tolkien would not have written ! |
