Given an ISBN, Calibre could not download metadata from amazon.com nor isbnsearch.org

I have a book with ISBN 978-9384007249 with amazon link. I used Add books > Add from ISBN but Calibre could not load any information.



Filling metadata manually does not work either.



On the other hand, the amazon link contains the detail information of the book



Similarly, the isbnsearch link contains its metadata.



Could you elaborate on how to solve this problem? I have nearly 50 books in this situation. Amazon.com and isbnsearch.org do have metadata for these isbn's but Calibre could not get it.

Can you use the Copy to clipboard button and post the contents here.

What if you removed the ISBN and all other data and added amazon:9384007242. I found it important that when trying to search using Amazon or ISBN ID's, that all other data fields are empty.
Does that work?

The links are definitely there. Not sure why they are not being used. Someone with more knowledge needs to advise.

You might have more luck searching using an ISBN identifier instead of amazon identifier which expects an ASIN.

That is not an English language book according to the 4th digit (English is 0 or 1)

Translation: You need to configure the Amazon plugin for the proper country store. The default is Amazon.com

Oddly, when I added a book from that ISBN, it came up with a book. The title and author matched what I saw on Amazon.ca

Edit: Just for the heck of it, I tried running the same Add from ISBN 8 times. The process failed on 6 and succeeded on 2.
