I don't mind the spiders too much, except when they descend suddenly on a line of silk DIRECTLY INTO MY FACE. This results in a lot of undignified squealing and flailing on my part. Every once in a while I think that I might want a pet spider (rose-knee tarantula or similar) but I chicken out because I'm afraid of it escaping and freaking out the neighbors.
The arthropods that really give me the willies are the scutigera. I know that they are beneficial and essentially harmless, but I would prefer that they do their work out of my sight!
