There is a Table of Contents in the purchased version of the trilogy that allows you to go from book to book.

The single volume Trilogy purchased from BoB as an ePub is working very nicely on my Sony Reader. Table of Contents is well implemented and works well. Single map of Shire is hard to read on Sony, and can't find the larger maps of Middle Earth or detailed map of Gondor. Fabulous to have it in eBook form. Biggest downside is that ineptepub chokes on it. Anyone interested in working on this PM me. amjb |

Why? Hmm, then I'd rather buy a .lit and go the other way round (and convert to lrf). Or a mobipocket version from Fictionwise. I want this books for keeps and I don't want DRM on it in that case. |

From what I understand it's the distributor who often does the formatting from a source file provided by the publisher, at least that's how it is for Hachette labels (they provide an epub and it's up to the distro's to make any other formats), don't know for sure if it's the same for Harper Collins or not. I got my copies. Now, just let me say this: All of us who have at any time said, "When the legal e-book comes out, I'll chuck my darknet copy and pay the full fare," show the industry that we were serious. I know I am.

I have just put in a request to my local library for the ePub editions. I do hope the library gets them. Last time I read all 4 books was not long before the LoTR movies came out. Last edited by JSWolf; 04-20-2009 at 10:04 AM. |
