Probably. I could add that setting in the JS Customization.

I will look at setting a personal option for http and others in JS Customization for NV.

Truth is: I would like an option that would apply to all http:\\ urls in calibre. But I'd settle for a JS->NV option to use a different browser

I'd use Edge as my NV browser.

If this comes to fruition, then my use case for using a different Browser in NV would be moot - I should have thought of having calibre to create and use a default browser instance donkeys years ago.

I wanted to give you a heads up relevance on that other thread.

I changed all my onenote:https: links to onenote:http, and I'm pretty sure all my 'normal' web links are https: which is hooked to Edge via the PI->NV tweak.

I'm happy with that, but also happy to test your 4 variants, if needed.

Correct - I just wanted let you know where I thought we're at - hence Recap.

The last one - did you enable the four override keys:

Changed: Completed; will be in the next release of JS.

Now, these are supported for PluginTweaks in Preferences Tweaks.

FILE = "file:"
HTTP = "http:"
HTTPS = "https:"
ONENOTEHTTP = "onenote:http:"
ONENOTEHTTPS = "onenote:https:"

For ONENOTEHTTP and ONENOTEHTTPS , obviously the app is passed the url without the "onenote:" still in it. It existed merely to provide a Tweak key.

NV now supports using 4 different browsers simultaneously.

Version 1.0.224 -2023-03-24 Notes Viewer: CalibreSpy URL links are now natively supported by NV. No Tweak is required. The URL link must be a valid command-line argument, such as used in a command file (.bat file in Windows). Refer to the CalibreSpy example .bat files provided with that plugin.

See the attached explanation.

For those not familiar with CalibreSpy, it is designed to be run when the Calibre GUI is not running. It is always read-only, and hence supports running simultaneously for multiple Calibre Libraries via the command-line. It may also be run from the Calibre GUI, but that is optional. The instance running from the GUI will be closed by Calibre upon shutdown, whereas the multiple instances of CalibreSpy running from the command-line are fully under user control.

I created a new long-text custom column, restarted, ran NV, then selected the new column in the dropdown. It was there because there was nothing in the saved options about it, of course. I then clicked 'options'. It was there, along with all of my other customization options.

What did you do differently?

Added: the only possible way is if you did not restart Calibre immediately after adding a new column, but rather ran NV instead.

I restarted immediately, then opened NV. I noticed my default-selected column was no longer default. Then I opened the options dialog (dropdown still empty) and found everything missing.

Customization is library-specific by uuid, not name. You customized that library before?
