My biological clock does NOT handle this transition at all ... not to mention the cat's feeding times .... |

Look on the bright side (as we will be doing tomorrow evening ); the cat presumably won't object to being fed early. It's t'other transition that causes hangry cats.

I am always surprised by the number of people who complain about going to DST but who seem to accept going back to standard time without complaint.

As I have to take medication on a 6-hour schedule, any time changes I find a bit annoying.

We voted to go to permanent DST here (by a HUGE margin) and the current government campaigned on it, but they're still dithering, waiting for California, Oregon and Washington to do it first. Sigh.

The news media here in Washington keep saying that there is a change required in national law before the already approved Washington law can take effect. I haven't paid close enough attention to remember what it is, just that it's difficult to get anything done in D.C.

Last night when the timechange happened, the radio station I listen to went to dead air for exactly one hour. I've never seen (...heard) that happen before. I think they have it either prerecorded or automated at nights, so I wonder if something went wrong with that.

The major takeaway I got from the results of the survey (which, IMHO, is very different from a vote) was that there was a lot of blathering about how much safer it will make the roads for people driving home in the afternoon with no concern about the number of people who will be driving to work in the dark more days of the year. As near as I could tell, in their world, no one gets up before dawn to drive to work and traffic accidents only happen in the afternoon. Perhaps a bit bitter but I went to a town hall meetings for the referendum and many of the speakers seemed to blame the PDT/PST switch for everything up to and including cancer and global warming. I will admit that I hadn't thought about more people dying on the Sunday that we go from PDT to PST with an increase of about ~4% though I made myself unpopular by pointing out the minor nit of that Sunday having 25 hours so about 4% longer than a 24 hour day.

I think most is prerecorded. I been noticing the same request calls repeating over and over. same recording and all

Folks who live in places without real pizza and have to rely on national chains have my sincere pity.
