Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke is also on sale through Kobo Canada (and likely others). |

I have this ebook, and I love it. I've had it for about a year, I think. |

Personally I think those 2 are the best books David Brin wrote. |

Starfire by Paul Preuss is $1.99 at Amazon US. This is a reprint of an older book from 1989.

2061 by Arthur C. Clarke is $1.99 at Amazon USA (maybe someday I'll understand why these versions of the Space Odyssey books aren't the same as the ones I bought years ago even though they look exactly the same).

Or by "travel" do you mean a paid VPN with outlet in a desired country? I'd not touch with a barge poll. I'd only use VPN in a public place to connect to my home ISP, for security. |

There are people here who claim it's easy to "travel" with Kobo. Don't enter a street address or a credit card (which would be linked to a street address for billing), change your country, and set your postal code to a valid number from the desired country, and then you'll be able to buy books using your gift card balance. The balance will be converted to the currency of whichever country you travel to. I've yet to try it myself, but this is my understanding of how you do it.

YMMV but that has been my experience. I traveled home again immediately afterwards and have not suffered any ill effects. I even recently bought myself a gift card addressed to my own account's email address and got the bonus $10. |
