Epub books on Kindle paperwhite on 6.8
Hi
I have a Kindle PW1 and I recently bought the new Kindle PW 6.8. As per Amazons announcement earlier Amazon will now support epub format. Questions 1. What is the best way to transfer an .epub to Kindle PW 6.8 2. What needs to be done if i want to transfer this through calibre These questions may have been asked before, however i could not find any relevant links Thanks Ninad |

1. If you don't care about reading insights, use Calibre to transfer them. Otherwise upload via https://www.amazon.com/sendtokindle.
2. Install KFX-Output plugin. When you edit metadata for your books it's best to also have the amazon-id / ASIN for each book. This'll enable goodreads integration for your books. Make sure that https://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Previe...de=21381691011 is installed on your machine, otherwise KFX-Output won't work. Now you can transfer your epubs to your Kindle in KFX-format. |

Kindles don't support epub, Amazon servers do. You can send an epub via email or Send-to-Kindle; but for direct transfer (including transfer with Calibre) you must use one of the Kindle formats, AZW3 or KFX.

It's easier (IMHO) to use Calibre to convert to KF8 and then send to your Kindle via USB. Also, less chance of something going wrong.

If you are out of USB range, then using amazons own send to kindle is simplest. you don't have to do any imports or conversions, just send the epub.
the only cons are 1. its arrives as a personal document, not a book 2. the cover is lost |

How would you be out of USB range to send ePub to Amazon?

Assuming the book is drm free, which it would be from Gutenberg, or if it was an arc from an author. |
