Unwanted character in a word

I am trying to clean up a book that has a lot of '?' in the middle of a word.
Gra?ham similari?ties and so on.
I have looked and tried what I think might work with no success. I either get an error or a lot of extraneous stuff is selected.
Any ideas.
Thanks
Phil

In Calibre's editor, you can use the following to find a ? in between two lowercase letters.

Search
Code:
([a-z])\?([a-z])
Replace
Code:
\1\2
To find where the ? is after an uppercase character

Search
Code:
([A-Z])\?([a-z])
and use the same replace.

Thanks JS.
That worked.
I think my biggest problem was trying to find all the letters before and after the '?' in the 'word'. That was why I got all kinds of extra stuff.
Thanks for the help. My regex is getting better but it is confusing at times.
Cheers

Jon,
Just to clarify;
If I used:
([a-z]+)\?([a-z]+)
that would have included everything a-z before and after the '?'.

If you use
Code:
([A-Z]+)\?([a-z]+)
then you'll find words that start with an uppercase letter and words that don't.
