Virtual Library Helper - Create Search Criteria combined with Calibre's option to create URLs from search lets you create a calibre:// link to an arbitrary selection of books without messing around with their metadata. Useful for reference purposes or whatnot.

Curious: is the "Copy search as URL" feature new(ish), or did I just miss it I see it is in the doco?

It was added a while ago, same time as calibre:// urls or shortly after I think. But it's kind of hidden, so unless you right-click the search bar a lot for some reason it's easy to miss.

That may be true, but that's no excuse for me

It's plain as day in the doco which I claim to always read assiduously Which I thought I did… given I'd been hankering for calibre protocol URLs for years.

Would it be possible to make the legend text slightly bigger? I had to open a magnifier to read it.

For future reference, if you use the JS Tool to add Translator and Original Title to your Library as custom column metadata, see the attached image.


Tip: it is very easy and efficient to edit both of these short-text fields within the Library View itself by using the F2 button. No need to go into the full-blown Edit Metadata function.

Question: When using 'customize tag browser icons', browsing and then assigning an icon resizes and modifies the source file before copying it into the tagbrowser_icons, which is not really expected.

Is this intended, or easily changed?
