Jobs window opens automatically when starting Calibre

Hi, for some reason, every time I open the latest version of Calibre (Mac), the task windows opens automatically.

Is this a new things or maybe I have something wrong with my settings?

Having to close the tasks window every time I open Calibre is a bit annoying.

Sorry, I mean the "Jobs" window.

Since my Calibre is set in Spanish I translated the word as I thought it would appear in the English version.

The problem is, as I mentioned before, that when I run Calibre, the "Jobs" window opens up as well. I've been using Calibre for several years and this is something that never used to happen before.

thats definitely not normal. Do you have any third party calibre plugins installed?

Yes, the only plugin I have installed is called "Find Duplicates".

I have deleted Calibre and then reinstalled it, but the problem persists.

I'm adding a screenshot to show how it looks after I open Calibre. As you can see, the "Jobs" windows opens automatically and is in the background.

UPDATE:

I have deleted the "Find Duplicates" plugin, but the "jobs" window stills open automatically.

Try running in debug mode and post the log (right click the preferences button and choose restart in debug mode)

Go to preferences->keyboard and check what you have set as the shortcut for "show/hide the jobs list"

Show or Hide Jobs shortcut:

Option (or Alt) + Shift + J

I set it to:

None.

Then I'm out of ideas, sorry. I thought maybe it was set to some keycode you were inadvertently pressing, but other than a keyboard shortcut and clicking the jobs button i know of nothing else in calibre that will cause that dialog to open by itself.

One could get the same behaviour in Windows with an Auto Hot Key script that sent Alt+Shift+J when a new main window was opened with 'calibre' in the title bar. There are several AHK like programs for MacOS.

I suggest the OP do a Safe Boot ==>> Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support (HK)

After doing the safe boot, It did not make any difference, unfortunately. I've been researching but it seems that I am perhaps the only person experiencing this issue.
