I must have missed it somewhere, how do we import these chains from zip files?

Go to add/modify chains, right-click on a blank area in the middle section of the window, and click Import.

Question: I added an action to my 'send-to-device' chain to run 'convert individually' books to ePub if the only available format is AZW3. While setting conditional to use approximate_formats() seems to work, is it the best way?

Edit: I misread your post. Your condition is correct.

The introduction of python templates by chaley, makes some of the features of the plugin unnecessary. I will be keeping most of these for backward compatibilty, but some I suspect are not used by anyone besides me, those I will remove, but thought it is better to ask here first:
The chains variation feature, which was implemented as an experimental feature, will likely change in the future. |

Question: Is there any way to make the single-field edit dialog a little wider? As mentioned in post 917, I can't resize dialogs when the chain is running and I don't know any other place that it's used (F2 in booklist is inline).

I have no problem resizing when the chain is running. I don't know what is happening at your end.

Just curious: What OS are you on? Unless you're using some shell extensions to change the titlebar, it doesn't look like Windows 10 (which I'm using). Maybe it's an OS-specific issue.

Okay, I tested again and found something strange: I can resize it. The cursor just doesn't change when I reach the edge of the window, making it hard to know exactly where to click.

I am on Linux. I cannot know what is happening with you on Windows. The one thing I can add to the code; is to make it remember the last size.

Once a month I create my catalogues and wonder whether this can be done by Action‐Chain.
First catalog is format csv while second and third is epub. Second and third is with saved option including a different name. I already found how to add Calibre‐Action «create catalogue» but this is without any further setting like format nor saved option. Is there any chance to create different catalogues by predifining the settings in Action‐Chain so that one click without further interaction will do? |

No. This is not possible. Calibre Actions can only invoke builtin actions, but cannot control how they behave.

Is it possible for chain variation menu items to be able to be disabled independently of each other? I tried adding globals(_variant_argument) to the conditions for the chain, but it doesn't seem to work. I'm guessing that's because it isn't defined until the chain is activated?

No. That is not possible. And I wouldn't go there. If you need to disable them independently, it calls for using two different chains.
