• I'm listening to Edith' Wharton's Custom of the Country.

• I am about 85% through The Selected Letters of Willa Cather, which I am reading in DTB. I've been reading this slowly since the end of July and it will almost certainly be my top book of the year, or in the top five. I've even managed to put a few re-reads of Cather's work into my audiobook rotation as I've gone along the different eras of her life.
  
• Inspired by my Cather reading, I am listening to Elmer Gantry by Sinclair Lewis on my commutes. Cather had a brisk correspondence with Lewis and I've not read him in recent memory.
  
• I've finished both books 10 and 11 of Anthony Powell's roman-fleuve A Dance to the Music of Time. I am saving the last volume for November or December. I really enjoyed 7,8, and 9, which were the war years. It has had a bit of a drop of for me in 10 and 11, so I am giving the last volume a little space to breathe.
  
• I am also doing my first buddy read over at StoryGraph for R.F. Kuang's Babel: An Arcane History. If anyone wants to join, send me a message!

I have a spreadsheet that shows the books in published order. So you can use that. It's not fully updated. But it's mostly updated.

I had no idea there were so many Star Trek books. 749! Thank you for sharing this. I am 75 so I doubt I will get through this list alongside of the 700 other books on my TBR list.

My pre-ordered What If? 2 arrived on my Kobo and as soon as I got into it, I was VERY glad to be reading it on a Sage. I would not like to be reading it on anything smaller than 8-inches

I've never read Agatha Christie before, and now that I have Kindle Unlimited, I have no reason not to - Murder On The Orient Express!

I have just finished Deadly Dreams by Andre Norton. This is a collection of all of her Dream/Alternate World works. It,begins with “Perilous Dreams” which incorporates “Toys of Tamisan”, “Ship or Mist”, “Get Out of My Dream, and “Nightmare”. All are excellent. It concludes with the very fine “Knave of Dreams”.
All the stories are well read by Jesse Vilinsky in the Audible version which can be downloaded with the Kindle edition.

The only disappointment is that Norton did not write more stories set in this fictional universe.

I originally was not impressed with Piranesi by Susanna Clarke when I started the book, but I will give it 4 stars as well.

I am on to The Hippopotamus Pool by Elizabeth Peters, an Amelia Peabody story. I have anjoyed every one of her books.

Which was a good collection of SF short stories, not a dud among them.

Next up: Panglor by Jeffrey A. Carver. Third in his Star Rigger series. The first two were only 3/5 for me. Let's hope I'm more in the mood this time.

4.25/5 for this one at The Storygraph. The running gag involving Emsworth that was introduced in chapter 1 and resurfaced in the final paragraph was a good sample of the tone of the book. A very accessible series debut.

Currently 25% into The Time Traveller's Guide to Medieval England by ian Mortimer. Not bad, but still not sure if I will be able to stick it out - a bit too cutesy and simplistic

I read his Restorarion Britain book and was underwhelmed for those reasons. I doubt I’d pick up another.

Happily, the chapter on C14 travel is proving very interesting, full of fascinating details and nearly devoid of attempts to make the presentation cute
