It is not clear to me where are these icons used. I have installed NickelMenu on my Sage and it is only composed by text items. Apologies if I'm missing something, I have just recently bought a Kobo.

You can use them to replace the Nickelmenu icon at the bottom. See screenshot.

Is there a way for the nickelmenu to have two additional icons/buttons on the menu bar in the bottom?

One woulod be the normal nickelmenu with all the sub menus and settings, and the other one would be a direct shortcut for one of the submenus/functions like Sleep or Screenshot On/Off or other functionalities that can be programmed to it as a shortcut like screen refresh, etc.


So insted of:

HOME MY BOOKS DISCOVER MORE NICKEL MENU


It will be

HOME MY BOOKS DISCOVER MORE NICKEL MENU SLEEP



I know i am sounding too lazy, but i just think sometimes a one-press icon for some functions would be great

Yeah, I just tried this myself with a different graphic called nickel_active.png (on firmware 4.33):

And the icon didn't change/stay highlighted when pressed. I think it might be a bug unless we're doing it wrong. Or it used to work on 4.23 but no longer (hence the 'experimental' label).

It survives a soft factory reset but the config files don't.

It shouldn't survive a hard factory reset.
