Don't uninstall. Disable would be better so you don't lose the keys.

Actually, using the directions linked in post #110 of this thread (page 8) is the best way to generate the plugin from the current code. It does not require downloading 10.0.2 or installing Python. Just a few simple clicks is all that's needed.

I'm not able to properly launch Calibre 6. I get the following error message:

I tried repair, uninstall and reinstall. I've also tried restarting computer after each trial.

Calibre does kind of run after this, but I can't access it. It doesn't show as open, but if I try clicking the icon to launch again, it tells me:

Installing over that version will keep the keys.

For the latter, look in task manager and see if there is a calibre task running. Then kill it. After that, it should start, but, you might get the original error.

Edit:

If I am reading the code correctly, you have a tweak called "change_book_details_font_size_by" set to a number that is not an integer. You can fix this by, carefully, editing the file "tweaks.json" that is in the configuration directory and removing the line with "change_book_details_font_size_by" in it. Or removing the file completely, but, that will remove any other tweaks you have made.

If you're asking me, I can't remember offhand. I *think* it was whatever is default, but I had changed the size. I could be wrong and changed the font too. As soon as I get back to the computer where Calibre is installed, I'll revert to previous version to make sure.

I think that you can update via external package from noDRM and keep your configuration / keys from the hairy alien edition so deactivating the plugin has it's advantages.

Yes, that fixed it. Didn't even remember using that, but even if I did, I probably wouldn't have thought of it. I'm glad that I checked back here before uninstalling and reinstalling for a 3rd time! Thank you again

Sorry, but you cannot use images stored on dropbox. I suggest you attach the images instead.
