This is completely trivial (and I know Beta features are not supported) but after the update the appearance of the cards in the Solitaire game is much sharper. The tiny numbers on the cards are easier to see.

Perhaps anecdotal evidence of other changes?

Parameters like %1, %2, %3 are usually (always???) read from the Kobo config file (.kobo/Kobo/Kobo eReader.conf) which the user can directly update, either via the GUI, or sometimes only via a manual text edit.

If it follows convention, it might be something like readingTextRendering under the Reading Settings (since font sharpness is readingFontSharpness), but I don't know what value it would take or what the expected result should look like. Fascinating, though.

Kepub is Kobo's native format. It has some features missing in epubs, like the ability to zoom images; it's also faster than epub. The advantage of epubs is typesetting and layout, which is noticeably better than that of kepubs.

You can have your epubs sent to your Kobo as kepubs by using the KoboTouch Extended Driver in Calibre.

Right now the statistics appear in the 'Details' section of books bought on the Kobo store. I needed to connect it to the internet and navigate the store once (maybe syncing would suffice, I didn't try) to have the statistics appear on the books downloaded on my device though.

I just had a quick poke around in the firmware, try webkitTextRendering= in the Reading settings.

Nice ideas, unfortunately no joy with any of these:

readingTextRendering=true
readingTextRendering=OptimizeLegibility
readingTextRendering=optimizeLegibility
readingTextRendering=optimizelegibility
readingOptimizeLegibility=true

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see if anything develops.

Does the device need a reboot after the value is changed, or is it enough to just close/open a book for it to take effect?

And I wonder if they added any other undocumented options in 4.32 too.

I don't think there is a "normal" time. Sometimes it updates in a few days, sometimes in a month. If you're anxious about it, change your affiliate.conf and/or update manually.

I don't think I did need a reboot, but I've done so many
USB connect - edit config - USB disconnect - test failed - try reboot - still failed
in the last hour I could have been on autopilot
