adding books error

Hello, I have been using Calibre for a number of years and today i am getting this message, never seen it before, and i need it translated into English, LOL.
it has happen with four books so far.

1st Run check disk, your drive may have errors (common for removable drives that were not ejected or powered down unintentionally)

Next, run Calibres Library Maintenance (Right click the Library Icon) (same reasons as above),

resolve errors (usually you move unknowns Out of the Library, the add them as normal.
NOTE This is one of the few cases you do anything using the OS inside the Library)

Is this error coming when you are trying to add eBooks to your Kobo or to your Calibre library?

It might help to know if this is Linux or Mac

It is "adding" to the calibre library, not "sending" to the device. The error messages make that clear.

And if it was sending the book to a a Kobo device, there would be the word "kobo" somewhere in the traceback.

Thank you, I ran both scans and all is ok with the external drive and the library. the error happens when I try to add books to Calibre I am using a Mac (Big Sur) it must be an issue with the epub I think. I added the books to the Kobo library directly and it works fine. Thank you all for your response, and I apologize for not adding more details when I posted.
