Hello,

I'm having a problem with adding a Scribd account. The sign in fails.

I will take a look at it this week. I haven't used Scribd in years and no longer have an account. I might have to drop the ability to sign in to Scribd from the plugin.

This might be slightly OT but I had something interesting happen today. Looking for the shortest hold list for a recent release, one of my libraries offered me the choice of an immediate 7-day borrow or traditional hold for the normal 21-day borrow. That's never happened before and I'm wondering if other libraries have implemented similar options?

Seems like a good idea to improve the turnover on a new release with limited Overdrive availability...

I think that when the "set amazin identifier is checked" and audible books are allowed to be searched, the plugin changes the amazon asin to the audible asin.

I was wondering why everytime I search amazon for a book using the identifier in my library I was being directed to the audible version. I just noticed that all the books I have linked in Overdrive that have an audible version have been changed to the amazon audible asin. This also affects how the metadata downloads when using an identifier associated with an audio book returns audiobook identifiers for goodreads, etc.

I did some searches and am not able to duplicate this problem. Could you perform a search using the plugin that results in an Audible book idenfifer and post the search log so that I can see what might be going wrong?

I wonder if that’s the same as/related to the section I’ve seen on my library’s website of a “lucky day” section or something to that effect, where they had a selection of in demand titles available for a shorter immediate borrow.

I aopologize, it's the search the internet plugin. It seems that Amazon wants to direct their searches to their audible selections rather than their ebooks and text when I use the previously helpful parameters. Since there are no current plugins that directly send me to Amazon I use that one to do a search.

There are some times when I click on the asin from the link in the book details identifiers and it brings me to their auible version, but that is probably because the plugin (or some other means) used the same asin for both books (audible and text), I noticed that in some cases. I am going to create specific columns to compare asin numbers side by side.

Finally logging in because this plugin has been a lifesaver and I've just updated to the latest Calibre.

I'm using Calibre 6.8 and since the change to ignore punctuation in search I've been unable to get new versions of Calibre to recognize # or @ for identifiers:odid or any of those variations.

Audible and Amazon items in discovered links no longer have the publisher, publication date, or language. There's something about them updating the Amazon lookup in Calibre in the latest update.

Thanks for the bug reports. I only use a small subset of this plugin’s capabilities these days and rely on those who use the rest to make me aware of problems. I will take a look at those issues in the next few days.

How would I change existing IDs?

A few months ago, my regional library changed Overdrive URLs (novascotia.overdrive.com > samepage.overdrive.com). I fixed the URL in the settings but I only now just realized some of my books still have the old IDs.

You can use "Edit metadata", "Edit metadata in bulk", "Search and replace" in calibre to update the "odid" identifiers, searching for the old URL and replacing it with the new one. If you choose to do that backup your library beforehand and be very careful. That function can easily mess up your entire library if used incorrectly!

The next Overdrive Link plugin release (in about a week) will recognize those two sites as being equivalent. If you install that, change the URL in your plugin configuration, and run "Check and repair book links" from the plugin menu it will automatically update the individual books that link to that library. I recommend doing it this way instead of using bulk search and replace.
