The previous Inverted mode worked a lot more intuitively, at least for me. Why would I want the text inverted but not the images? It looks especially bad for books which have images for chapter markers. |

Well that explains what I was getting worried about, at least we can still use invert mode. I did like the idea of the images in Darkmode but not so much the menu and annotation pages. The title page on that book does a small issue as well. Have noticed a lot of books are using images for the title page and some other pages. Thanks all for investigating this |

You could export all the images, invert them, and put them back. But if it's just the cover and title page as images with maybe some other little images such as the publisher logo, then don't bother.

So I’m curious how anyone could get flashbanged when using reasonable brightness levels.

With the screen inverted, I find the brightness needs to be higher. so yes, the non-inverted menus/images/screens can be a bit too bright for some.

Whatever happened to the patch? Did geek1011 give up on it?

Okay. I've just not seen it take this long, but I guess with Kobo making some significant changes to the way fonts are handled (or something), it's not as easy as just making a couple of tweaks to the previous patch.

I’ve patched my Forma using this method and it seems identical to how I’d expect it to be.

I use several of the font patches and don't want to read without them. So I'm stuck with the previous firmware for now. Not that there's something wrong with that. I'm happy to wait. No hurry.
