There is essentially nothing on the FCC, except for the 32 GB memory and bluetooth. The device will most likely support audiobooks.

Audiobook support certainly seems like a reasonable hypothesis, given that Kobo has already gotten into the audiobook business, but has no Kobo devices people can listen to them on, and the new device has Bluetooth.

For myself, I don't see the appeal of adding bluetooth or audio to an ereader. The bluetooth has to be a bigger battery drain, as would audio. And why would anyone want to listen to an audio book on an ereader when they could just put a tiny mp3 player in their pocket that measures about 1.5"? That's one time I'd consider an ereader unnecessarily bulky.

Keep in mind that this may simply be a case of "you get that for free because it's bundled in the new SoC package". The FCC/EU/<insert similar bodies for rest of world here> still requires you to *test* the HW, even if the production SW will never use this bit of HW. (Granted, I *think* we've seen traces of BT-related SW work, but, oh, well ;p). |

Hopefully bluetooth would allow a bluetooth keyboard, which would allow a remote page turner. This could get me to upgrade my Glo HD.

I hope this is a new Forma without the light issue as I'm thinking it might be time to get a new Reader.
