The Meljean Brook novella is Ascension. It is #7.5 in The Guardians series.

I have not read her The Guardians series so can't say how the story stands out of order. I plan to read the series in 2021, but not sure if it will be early in the year or later.

I quite enjoyed her Iron Seas steampunk series. She's currently writing as Milla Vane.

More than a year later, these are on sale again at Kindle UK, but this time Magic Shifts is £2.99 and Magic Binds is £1.49. The links are still good...

Magic Shifts and Magic Binds are the 8th and 9th in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews - if you don't count any of the novellas and short stories and stuff. They have dropped in price at Kindle UK, and probably at Kobo UK, but I don't really watch there.

Wicked Autumn is the first in G. M. Malliet's Max Tudor series. It has dropped to $2.99 at Kindle and Kobo US. I've read and quite enjoyed this book, but be forewarned that if you like it, the later titles in the series are quite expensive ($10.99 and $11.99) and almost never (seriously, like never) go on sale.

A Prince on Paper is the third in Alyssa Cole's Reluctant Royals series. I've read and really enjoyed the first in this series, A Princess in Theory, although I was biased in favor of it from the start, since I could relate to the heroine's experiences in graduate school, which were depicted pretty much spot on, IMO.
