This firmware release is a bugfix release, and I've only noticed the following:

    • The only one that seems to be displaying release notes for 4.22 instead of 4.23 is my first Aura (EDIT 2: sideloaded update file too), which is on the regular "kobo" affiliate like my Glo HD and Clara HD are, while my second Aura is on the Indigo Books affiliate ("KoboIndigo"), which I'm certain doesn't include a custom update channel.
  2. Scrollbars have been tweaked.
    • They now have arrow buttons!
    • However, I still miss the "Go to page" prompt, and wish Kobo would bring that back and make it accessible by tapping on the scroll head without holding down and/or dragging.

I've decided to only show the revised scrollbar.

Don't mind the time displayed, as I'm very much a "night" person! However, if you're wondering why the clock is in 24-hour time in my screenshots, I followed someone else's suggestion on another thread that showed how to switch the date formats from US to UK so that I can get 24-hour time and day before month in dates. I still wish this was an officially supported feature, or at least accessible from the "Beta Features" menu.
i've tried the previous firmware and this one on my Touch, i also decided to try Firmware 4.15.12920 no prizes for guessing which i prefer.

like you i'd miss the go to page, if i still didn't have it

My reaction was similar, the arrow could be used likewise: "I'll read the xth tap of the arrow after y swipes" - 4:50 From Paddington in my case, when x=4 and y =3

That's pretty much what I am finding. I have far to many pages in the lists for me to actually have a chance of getting to a particular book by typing in a page number. Or going to the books I added in May or something like that. I was using the "Go to page" function to get to a random page (if typing "123" or "246" can be considered random). I was doing this as get away from the books on the first few screen. Just as I sometimes change the sorting so they turn up in a different order. With the scrollbar, I just tap somewhere, and I get a set of books and scroll back or forwards until something catches my eye.

Otherwise, I just do a search. Or use the Authors or Series tab. And very occasionally, collections.

If you are going to have a scroll bar, why not use conventional UI: arrows scroll a line, above or below current location for a page?

I used to just approximate, so if I had, say, 100 pages of books, and I was looking for an author starting with M, I would go to page 50 and narrow it down. I think the scroll bar with arrows is a more elegant solution.

There are improvements in the reading experience made AFTER 4.15. 4.20 is a much better firmware then 4.15. Plus 4.20.14622 has the Go to page in My Books. I cannot say about the next firmware as I've not instled it.
