fast bulk comparison of metadata cover with actual cover

Dear Sirs, for some time I wonder whether there is (or could be) a way, or a plug-in, to fast visually compare in every selected record the cover of the metadata with the first page of the e-book, so that one can possibly instantly replace the former with the latter whenever the latter picture is clearer or sharper or has a higher resolution. Thanks for the attention |

I would dearly love if someone could/would make a plugin for YouTube-DL. It's open source, written in Python, does NOT break DRM. I'm not a coder, but since it's pretty much self-contained already, wouldn't that mean all that needs to be done is interface it with Calibre? I admit I don't know; it has a huge list of options I don't have a clue how to use. If it could play nice with FanFicFare on AO3 fanvid entries, that would be even better. http://yt-dl.org/ https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-...ing-youtube-dl https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-...ovies-for-free |

Is there a plugin to convert commas in a list of author names (already FN LN, FN LN, FN LN, etc.) to &s?

P.S. I haven't been able to use Job Spy. I have an astigmatism, and can't read standard/tiny text on the screen. Last edited by MarjaE; 04-16-2020 at 11:06 PM.

Also, Windows 10 has a built-in Magnifier that is excellent: WINDOWSKEY plus the PLUS key simultaneously, as described in the attachment. DaltonST

System Preferences > Accessibility > Zoom Owing to coordination issues, and tendon injuries, I can't use gestures, and have to repeat the key combo 8 times instead. I get very blurry text. Last edited by MarjaE; 04-17-2020 at 09:35 PM.

 HTML Metadata Import

I would love to see a metadata source for importing from a URL, based on a "uri" or "url" identifier. It would mean, for each item metadata is being queried from take a look for the identifier. If it is present load that webpage and scan for schema.org compliant values. Then use those values to fill things in. For example DriveThruRPG uses the https://schema.org/CreativeWork item type for all of the things they have on the site. This would make it easy to import a title, thumbnail, rating, description, and author. It wouldn't remove all the work of importing DriveThruRPG items, or similar things. But it would mean that if the effort were put into setting the identifier on a bunch of items everything else could be pulled in quickly and easily. |

I would like, after ctrl-D, not to be asked but default to Download Metadata AND covers, is there an option or plugin for that? (seems a relic from time when data was expensive...) |
