My wife is high risk, but has been staying home mostly. We had a doctors appointment out of town this morning and are back now. I was supposed to go to a rock concert next weekend, but it has been cancelled. Apache |

OTOH, there have been several younger members who have stopped posting here, but by all accounts are still alive and well (some members have met them in other online forums).

Here everything is closed: school, university, the majority of shop (only essential shop are opened), of course are closed cinema, theater, restaurant, bar, all sport is blocked. And we can't go outside our cities but only for strict necessities like medical examinations or assistance for disabled people. Walking, running or cycling is permitted but not encouraged. My bank informed me that they have reduced opening hours, and the tax office is closed to the public. May be that in the next days I will work from home, I hope from Thursday. But it is very strange, You fear all contacts, you have to be one meter away from anyone else , when you go to buy bread You wait outside if there is someone inside, many people wear the mask. Very sad Possible consequences: 1. more children in nine months 2. more divorces 3. closed bookstores therefore increased purchases of printed books bought from Amazon and other online retailers 4. increase in ebook purchases 5. more time to become stupid in front of the TV with reruns of old useless programs Personally may be I read a little more because I have no sport to watch and no restaurant or cinema to go. Yeah, things are shutting down here too, despite very few cases in my city so far. And there's panic buying. Every morning at 8 am for years I have gone down to my local mini-mall to do my daily shopping (I mostly eat fresh, not processed) and buy a newspaper. Usually at 8 am the car park is near empty and I'm the early bird. Last few days, car park is jammed at 8 am, and there's a mob waiting for the stores to open. Totally bizarre. Aussie rules football playing in empty stadiums. Anzac Day dawn service (April 25) cancelled. Anybody flying into Australia has to self-isolate for two weeks. My brother, who worked in this sort of field until his recent retirement, told me weeks ago that it would take 2 or more years minimum for a vaccine. (At one stage he had the UK's only "hot lab" under construction in his workplace.) I'm 75 so I'm sort of in the age danger zone, though I've always been resistant to flu and cold when they're in season. And just about anything else, for that matter; I have had exactly one surgery in my life, and that was for cataracts. My only hospital trip since infancy, and only a day procedure. Currently approaching book upload No 500, looks like I'll make it safely. (494 today). |

There was a concert and a live production I wasted to get tickets for. I didn't and now they aren't happening. We are doing our best to keep away from others. It's going to be a long haul. We did do some stock-up shopping on Thursday when it was announced to be a pandemic. I've got video games, eBooks, audiobooks, TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and maybe Disney+ (still deciding if I want to pull the plug on that). |

 2) We live and work together and have for over 30 years. We are used to being together 24/7 and are as in love now as when we first met. 3) If I want to read paper I still have thousands of books all alphabetized. 4) This one could be a problem, but a good one for me. 5) No comment. Apache

My daughter says books and BGI (Brain Graphical Imagination) beats Hollywood CGI. Except with 3 kids and husband all working from home it's hard to find time to read.

High risk here: 70 years old, diabetes, heart disease, COPD... need I say more? I’m trying to avoid all contact but that isnt possible. Supermarkets have stopped home deliveries, so when I need more supplies I will be forced to go out. Nobody to shop for me, you see. One of the hazards of being a hermit. That said, so far so good.

We still have deliveries or in some cases, a pickup but without contact.
