They're also a staple of Australian children's television since forever. I find The Teletubbies to be creepy (but in an enchanting, fascinating "I cannot look away" way).

EDIT: The above, about the Bananas, I just realised may sound defensive. It's not at all meant to be. Its potential "creepiness" was why I posted these opening credits for Ricky in the first place.
