How can I mass delete books from a Kindle?

			I have a Kindle Paperwhite 1.

I had 262 books on it, added through Calibre. I plugged my device in and used the Remove From Device option in Calibre to remove them all, then ejected. However, none of the books are gone from the Kindle's library. All 262 remain listed. When I try to open them, they display an error, "The item you were reading has been removed", and the file is gone. But they're all still listed. I can remove them only by long-pressing and manually selecting the option, but doing that for all 262 books is going to take a really long time and be very tedious. Is there some better way I can do it? Some SQLite database I can access to mass-delete items? I've googled and googled and all the problems about re-indexing the library seem to be about the opposite problem, new books not appearing. I can't find any way to remove items that won't go away. Thanks to anyone who can offer a tip. EDIT: And to clarify, I do not have any Cloud documents, the books were never uploaded to or downloaded from the cloud nor has the Kindle been off airplane mode for years, so that isn't the issue. It seems that the Kindle's self-update function isn't doing its thing. I would try adding one or two new books to the Kindle. Once you have added the books and ejected the reader, this may trigger the device to initiate the self-update function it does when it takes stock of all the books on the device.

This happened to me once. I found that I had not ejected the device, or that I had ejected it too soon.

Try again and then eject it and then wait for the screen to come back on before unplugging the USB. For me, everything was fine after that. |
