I just updated to the latest firmware and now Calibre is reporting "Error communicaating with device"

Details:

calibre, version 3.48.0
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

'list' object has no attribute 'set_debugging_title'

Can I fix this somehow?

I'm now trying Calibre beta 399.9 and the error is now:

calibre, version 3.99.9
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

CorruptError: database disk image is malformed

The problem is that the database is corrupt. Do you use Kobo Utilities to backup your database? If you do, copy the last backup over the corrupt database in .kobo on your Kobo.

If you don't have a backup of your database, you'll need to log out of your Kobo and log back in in order to rebuild the database.

Your welcome. You'll be OK either way. The only thing is that if you need to rebuild the database, you'll lose your reading stats.

If you are not using Kobo Utilities, I suggest you install it in Calibre and set it up to backup your database when you connect to Calibre. If you do install Kobo Utilities, I suggest reading the full thread on it in the Calibre Plugins forum.

Finally got the updated firmware. Had to switch affiliate from Kobo to beta to get it.

I'm enjoying the progress bar. Very unobtrusive.

And when you call up the menu, the time no longer changes to percent read after a few seconds! That's a little thing, but it makes me happy!

About the new DropBox feature...

The only reason I would use DropBox with my Kobo, if it was a way to remember where I am in a book and continue my reading on my phone, for example, like the Kindle does.

Other than that, I prefer to use Calibre, since I convert on the fly all my ePub to KePub.
