I tried handling the Forma in the store - it's too wide, and even though it's as light as the Libra, it's a bit screen heavy so the balance of the reader feels screen heavy, which means I have to tilt the reader in to keep it balanced in hand or grip it even tighter to keep it steady. The Libra has a better balance IMO, even as the 7" screen mostly fits the stuff I read (and is barely big enough for PDFs which aren't formatted for 11x15. And it's a bit faster than the Aura One in practice, at least when I've compared the two. And be having to stretch my thumb to turn pages (and constantly adjust my grip) is a godsend. |

As you can see, it hooks onto opposite corners. The other one I was considering hooked onto opposite sides, but as the hooks were solid as opposed to the 'leather' of the one I got, I thought they could scratch the case. |

I think you can't know, and probably she can't know too, until she tries the e-readers.
For example, I have a first generation h20, after having tried my sister-in-law Clara HD for a couple of days I decided that something smaller, lighter and with warm light would have been great. When I saw that the Libra had been released I decided that I absolutely wanted it lol Well, last week I went to the store and made the mistake of taking a Forma in hand (for the first time), and I fell in love with the ergonomics, the lightness and the non recessed screen. I have tried in store both of them and I like the Forma better, despite being bigger than my H20 (remember that I wanted something smaller lol), despite it being black, and I wanted a white device for a change. My hands are small but I don't have to force the position of the thumb unnaturally to press the Forma buttons, like it happens for me with Libra. Maybe it would be the opposite for her... The best thing would be to find a way to let her try both, perhaps by going to a store that displays both and letting her try them "by chance" Last edited by perisiana; 10-02-2019 at 08:32 AM. |

Thank you for all your suggestions. Looking at what kwmobile offers on amazon.fr, I realized that my ideal would be a silicon transparent back cover, if only they had one for the Libra. It is what I have for my Samsung phone which I couldn't hold otherwise: too thin and slippery. It might be difficult if not impossible to make though, considering the shape.

No I don't think so.
My point is, Forma has been out for a year and I've never considered it, due to its size and price, Libra had everything that interested me, but when I picked the Forma up ... bang, it just felt ... perfect? In my hands. So it's really subjective. Maybe... if you don't have the chance to let her try out the ereaders before buying, you could take the Forma, at least she will have the opportunity to try something big with a particular shape, if she tells you that the ereader is too big, or that she prefers a more classic shape, then you can choose another e-reader together. I would choose between libra and forma, I my self bought forma to my wife, and i still got KA1 for myself. Larger screen is my (ours) point of interest. If, and when my KA1 dies, i would buy forma.

I totally agree with you. For me the Forma feels lighter and more balanced than the Libra. And because the Libra is so slippery I tend to hold onto it so tightly that it makes my hand cramp.
I wanted white for variety, and the Libra fits in my smaller purses so it has its uses but if I could only have one ![]() ![]() ![]() |

It’s almost as if the details given in the OP have been shown countless times to have little to no bearing on predicting if someone will like one ereader over another.
Like how many more times does it need to be demonstrated? Pick one, if she likes it great, if she doesn’t then find out what she doesn’t like about it and exchange it for one that fits what she’s said she likes. Stop trying to find the perfect one because here’s a secret there’s no way for you to know without her at least trying one or preferably more of them. |
