Kobo Nickel is a nice font with a terribly high line spacing. Is it possible with a patch to reduce its line spacing to a more normal size? Well I use the "My 10 line spacing values" patch and I could install "My 24 line spacing values" but is it possible change that single font? for all patches anyway, my Kobo is a better device. ps: I know You are all busy now with the new firmware, so if it is possible consider it when You have time. In case it is of interest, I've manually updated to kobo-update-4.17.13651 on Kobo Mini, Clara HD, and Forma; and applied patches... but I'm pretty low maintenance for patches. All I enable is two things. and 1 of them only applies to the Forma of course. overrides: src/nickel.yaml: Show all games: yes src/libadobe.so.yaml: src/libnickel.so.1.0.0.yaml: Both page turn buttons go next: yes src/librmsdk.so.1.0.0.yaml: |

thanks, geek1011, i upgraded my Kobo Firmware to 4.17.13694 just 15 minutes ago and am now in the process of patching. May I humbly suggest something in the Table of Contents? Currently, if an entry in the TOC is too long to fit in one line, I see this: Quote:

Referring to 4.17.13694 I would appreciate a patch to get back to full screen reading without header/footer BUT with the new reading progress bar.

Just enable the 'Reduce top/bottom page spacer' patch in nickel.yaml. Then turn off both 'Chapter progress' and 'Book progress' in your Kobo's Reading settings. On the same page make sure 'Show book progress bar' is checked.

Not sure if it can be done but i have a Forma and i always want the buttons on the right. However every time you hardly even tilt it it then puts the book upside down. It really doesn't take much at all and is annoying. Any way for a patch to lock it in portrait mode and buttons on the right only? |

I presume you have the Forma locked to portrait mode. So playing with both settings should be fine. They’re on the second page and are just drop down menus for varying degrees. So it’s not like you can manually enter a number which would somehow break the Forma

Cool - will play around with dev settings. EDIT Yes the developer settings are pretty limited. They have a 'Back/Front trip angle' with 4 options 65, 70, 75 and 80 degrees. The default is 65 so i changed to 80. Still would love a way to lock it there. Last edited by poczynek; 09-22-2019 at 10:57 PM.

Having finally installed the 4.17 firmware, I must say I'm disappointed by the look of the new reading menu. I don't like the bold sans-serif font for "Back to ..." and the chapter title. I also miss the icon for reading progress, because I used to check that regularly. Neither am I a fan of the sans-serif font for chapter title and book title in the header and footer. Would it be possible to create a patch to change the font and font style to what it was before, i.e. the Kobo default font in FW 4.15? And also display an icon for reading progress? |

A patch with both the percentage read (whole book) and time remaining in the footer would be amazing. I know we have the progress bar, but for updating on Goodreads I need the exact percentage. Now I have to go back to home screen to see how far I am exactly. Or does anyone else know a fast way to see the percentage read? Like one click on something. |
