Looks like all of them were just recently manufactured. No wonder there's all sorts of delays.

Side note:
Apple's logistics at iPhone launch is truly impressive. If preorder says you'll receive the iPhone on release day, you *will* get it on release day. They often ship directly from factory and I'm amazed to see shipping from China right to my door take under 48 hours.

Japanese kindle oasis 10 generation serial number.
I purchased in Japan.
Kindle Oasis 3 (2019) WiFi + 4G (32GB) (Japan) (Graphite)
It was "G000 WQ04 9283 ****".
The initial firmware was 5.12.0.

Just got my O3 (9263) and can confirm that it did ship with 5.12.0

Just picked mine up:

32 GB Graphite Wifi, bought from Amazon.co.uk and reshipped to Sweden.
First six: G000 WM
9-12: 9265
Firmware: 5.12.0

I will have a look at adding the update.bin.tmp.partial folder I have been reading about before I connect to wifi and hold off on 5.12.1.1.

So it's been 2 days, and the Oasis has been connected to wifi the entire time. It hasn't updated, but I've had to charge it every day, because the battery is draining so fast. It's not indexing--it only has 2 books on it. It went from fully charged at noon yesterday to 30% this morning.

I sincerely hope that this is because of the "update.bin.tmp.partial" folder, because if it isn't, it's getting returned. My Oasis 2 always has wifi turned on as well, and I usually get at least a week to 10 days out of it. I'm not reading any more on this one than I usually do, if anything, I'm probably reading less than usual, because I've been really busy with work this week.

I'm going to reboot this morning after charging it, and see if that helps.

That post is about after an update to 5.12.1 and wifi off. shalym's KOA3 is at 5.12.0 and has had wifi on for 2 days. Too many degrees of freedom at the moment to draw conclusions.

Have shalym dump the log files, compress, and post them as attachments here so we can read them.
