Have you written a teardown "review" (or report of your findings)? That would interesting.

Erm, I'm still trying to figure out how I destroyed the display. Before I destroyed it, I was careful. Afterwards I took the touch layer and the glow layer off. There's a lot of glue in this puppy. Currently, I've got one quadrant of the display working. It started out as just a little bit missing. |

The longer it goes with so few videos about it, the more I think it's a massive failure. https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...IIAw%253D%253D has 4 videos in the last week, one of which is not terribly related, and the other is a video about a different ereader from good(sic)ereader |

Ok, here's a rough blog on the Glow4: http://www.temblast.com/blogs/glow4/blog.htm (It's a work-in-progress.) I figured out how I killed the display. The case is a bear to open and I apparently cracked a corner of the glass eInk display. Over time and handling the crack propagated and gradually ruined the display. The 6" Nooks all had plastic eInk displays. |

There seems to be some sealant on the edges of the two plastic shells. I've snapped the two empty shells back together and they are still not easy to separate, especially the corners. I've always used thin guitar picks to separate things. I don't think that I'd try another Glow4 without a thin metal spudger. I'm not sure how really waterproof the Glow 4 is. Rain? Sure. The front bezel is sealed to the display with 4mm double stick tape. Like most uses of this they are not insanely careful to make sure that the corners meet. The gaps are up to 3mm (1/8") or so. Somebody sink one of these in the bathtub and look for bubbles. |

This is exactly what I've wanted Amazon to sell and at the price point I had in mind too. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to go back to Nook and tethering my reader to my laptop and dealing with Adobe Editions to read Overdrive books. Just about 100% of my reading is from Overdrive. When I switched to the Paperwhite and received Ovedrive books merely with a couple of clicks and over wifi--it was like switching from B&W tv to super high definition color.

But it's $270 at Walmart, so maybe it blows your price point | |
