There are a few shows here that I don't even remember. That's obviously a good thing, because they're just dumb.

Ah, yes! The Ed Sullivan Show on Sunday night. As a school kid, that's when I really knew the weekend was over. I still call it the "Ed Sullivan feeling" when a vacation or some other happy time is drawing to a close.

I was only 4 in 1962, but I do remember most of those shows either because they stayed on the air into the mid-1960s or beyond, or because they were popular enough to go into syndication for many years following. Strange to see the cancer sticks sponsors. I remember a lot of the talk shows and variety shows had smokey stages due to so many participants/hosts smoking during the show. Most of the shows I remember were from around the mid-1960s and later. I seem to remember that before the show "The 20th Century" went off the air it changed its name to "The 21st Century" and was shown on Saturday mornings in my area, and still had Walter Cronkite as host.

				Hot Wheels goes Digital

A blast from the past goes digital. Mattel is introducing a Hot Wheels set that is both physical and digital.

Kind of funny that the Millennials on MacRumors where I saw this mentioned are confused as to why Hot Wheels is still popular. They need to go ask their granddaddies! Old fart gear heads never grow up! ![]() An Old School Hot Wheels: 1970 Dodge Super Bee

A trivia question from the first trailer. Who played the Thing? He was an unknown actor back then, but several years later he was starring in his own very popular, long running western.

James Arness. Personally, I thought his performance was a bit ... "wooden."
