Hello, I'm new to the Forum. Using Caliber on a Mac. I changed the caliber library name and caliber does not recognize it. When I open Caliber, there are no books listed. Is there any way of undoing this or do I have to import each book...again.
Thanks, Danielle

Fixed! Caliber Library Name Changed
Seeing as I'm impatient, I kept reading and searching and decided to do a Restore Database and it worked! Phew...

It's so anxiety producing, isn't it!? Glad you found a solution on your own!

That should not have been needed for a normal name change. If you had nt guessed. The folder that contains metadata.db is the name. All you need to do is establish the menu linkage using Create/switch:use existing |

Maybe a feature to rename the current library could be added, when used it would probably mean forcing a restart.
Currently one must step through a six item process (2 file manager and 4 calibre) to rename a solitary calibre library -- or break the First Law of Calibre (don't mess with calibre library folders using your file management tools) and then deal with the consequences. Neither is very intuitive. BR |

For years, I just renamed the Library folder using the OS, then Create/Switch to link it (and use 'delete' to be rid of the old name)

Mind, a restart isn't required. Just a reload of the library. I expect that's why it was under Switch/create. Linux-land, I believe move (mv) is how files and directories are renamed.
