On a lighter note, does anyone know why it's called 'spam'?

Legend says it derives from an old Monty Python skit, "Spam Spam Spam". Two customers in a cheap café trying to order from a menu that includes Spam in every recipe.

MENU:

Egg and bacon
Egg, sausage and bacon

I like old-fashioned Spam: sliced, fried, with mustard on rye.

I'm not a fan of the online SPAM.

Is this a NJ thing? Cuz that is also the way I got fed it as a child in Boonton.

Spam was introduced to South Korea during the Korean War. They are the second largest consumer of Spam after the US. It is also a top selling holiday gift.

I still recall being introduced to spam musubi and spam loco moco while on vacation in Hawaii. More of those times that "interesting" was the word to use.

Well, we called it Taylor ham when I lived in NJ.

(In Kinnelon and Mountain Lakes, right next door to Boonton.)

I'm partial to Spam Musubi. In fact I make it at home somewhat regularly.
