My tinnitus invariably gets worse, the very moment I see/read anything concerning tinnitus. Takes me good 15-20 minutes to get it tuned out (mostly) again after that. It's always there, but I've gotten very adept at being able to distract myself from it. |

Mine has a few different ways it can sound. It changes from day to day. The only thing that really stays the same is the buzz which I hear underneath the rest of the racket. My ear also tingles a few times a day in fact that started since I first heard the tinnitus. I do have TMJ and it’s possible it’s from that. I have an appointment with a tmj specialist but have to wait months.

I've had 'crickets' in my ears for decades ... with occasional blasts of high frequency tones ... guess I've learned to live with it ... only notice it when it decreases or vanishes for a while ... Never bothered me reading |

I obviously still read even with the racket as well. Gotta do something besides listen to it. lol Though the tingling bothers me a lot sometimes more than the noise.

It's kind of frightening what you can get used to/adapt to ... if you have to ... when you find out it's never going to go away.... | |

I have had tinnitus periodically in my life, and my general opinion is that whilst it IS a pain in the (whatever) it never stopped me enjoying a good book.

Yeah reading books is no problem. Watching tv is sometimes a challenge though but I’ve got more used to it.

How do you all deal with this shit? OMG the screeching. It's like there's an electrical storm in my head. (bad day) Anyways I think it's cause of my TMJ which I had for years but this started a month or so after a dental procedure which messed everything up even more. Going to do some physical therapy and hope to fix my jaw and maybe the tinnitus.
