It's not my interest, but it's nice they are doing an affordable basic with a backlight introduced. People should just get the PW though IMO, but some people may only be looking at the price.

My eyes aren't great. I legally cannot drive. I can tell the difference moving to 300dpi.

No.

Active content depended on the firmware, not the screen resolution.
New Kindles don't support Active Content.

So they basically took the only Kindle without the extra plastic light layer and gave it one. I’m glad I have the last version of the Kindle Basic without the light layer. I never could get past the loss of clarity from the light layer nor the horrible blue light shadows. Too distracting for me and terrible on my eyes. I would have much preferred a 300dpi Basic without front light.

I wish they would come out with another Voyage. Not that I need to replace mine yet, but I have a feeling that the way the Oasis is constructed - with one side being heavier and thicker than the other - is not going to be for me.

I doubt very much there will be a new Voyage. You might want to pick up a spare (new) one from Woot, while they still have them for $130.
