I've been trying out readers and have been disappointed until I installed Pocketbook Reader off of Google Play Store. Took a few minutes to figure out the settings. Uses a navigation wheel. Lots of settings for paragraphs, margins, inversion TTS (haven't messed with it yet) etc. Still figuring it out. Comes with a epub manual as well. Also allows more control of the orange and blue tint to the light.

Hi! Today I read this notice on my Likebook Mars: New Versione BYRead-V1.0.7-2018031914
The upgrade has these function:
1) Add bookshelf personal space function (what does it mean?)
2) Add third party (?) app supports refresh using regal;
3) Add the file manager supports the Google Cloud Disk;
4) Solve the problem that QQ reading cannot be operated after reading (what does it mean?)
5) Solve the problem that the Tencent Anime can't play out when watching comics;
6) Solve the problem thet the download application interface cannot opener by clicking the downloaded file;
7) The third part(y) app optimized the display effects.

Same of these functions are interesting, for me!
Has anyone tried the upgrade?

About refresh using regal: I use stock reader app. How can I obtain regal refresh? (whitout upgrade, I think, because the upgrade provides regal refresh for third part app, but for stock reader it is by default, isn't it?)

Regal is under User Settings/ Reading Settings. Checkbox.

I looked around a bit seen a little information on Regal but nothing really informative.

So it's a way to refresh the screen but what does it actually do. And why is it better?

Obviously the Ereader needs polishing regarding the OS. But I'm not waiting on them to fix its short comings.

I messed with it for a few days to figure out its software limitations. Tried 3 or 4 different reading apps. Then remembered how good the software on my PB360 was a long time ago. I installed the Pocketbook reader. Its file structure for management isn't any better. As in listing by genre then author and then book title etc. But with the help of Calibre it's doable.

I use this template.{tags:re([\.],/!)|!|}/{authors[0]}/{authors}/{series}/{series_index:0>5.2f| |-}{title}

Then when you go into the Mars filemanager app and click External (using an SD card) you click Books and all your books are in their own folders. Genre/FirstLetterofAuthorsName/
AuthorName/SeriesName/NumberinSeries&BookName

Pocketbook is a great reader once you figure out the settings. As long as you setup Calibre right. The books interact with the Recently read and Recently Added. Loving the Mars now that I have this setup properly.


Now I just have to figure out how to install a dictionary.

Does anybody had problems with charging?
I bought Mars and after 4 months of light use, ereader won't charge and turn on. I tried several different universal chargers, including one provided in box. Ereader is constantly in the case and there are no physical damage that could possibly cause the problem.

When I connect the charger, the ereader starts to turn on, but immediately stop and returns to the screen from the image.

What to do with this?

Have you tried to use another micro USB cable instead of the one that came with the device? Are you sure the cable is all the way into the device? If fully dead it should need about an hour of charge before it might turn on. Have you left on the charger overnight in this state?

I tried several different cables, chargers and sockets. They all work when I plug in my phone. Currently, the ereader is over 24 hours on the charger, and the last time I checked (3 hours ago) there was no change.
The cable is plugged well. I tried to pushed it harder, I moved it too, because I thought it might lose contact, did not help.

I contacted the manufacturer and he is asking me to return the device for the analysis but it probably means I will not have the device at least 2 months, I will have to pay a postage to China and very likely to again pay import fee when they return the device.

You don't need to pay any custom fees if you order from Spain stock. ( ordering from EU)

and you should request the seller to pay delivery back cost. Because of failured device sent.
I did requested and seller finally payed it. (At least most of it -a few dollars lost by PayPal transfer - but don't mind.)

I suggest order the second one from Gearbest - as I did. the reason why I suggest because Gearbest using PayPal as a payment method- which is much much safer for buyers . And the customer service is more friendly than AliExpress.
for example Send back costs are covered by PayPal.

Order with "EU express" and You got wait ~ 10 days with guaranteed no custom cost.

I also had a USB socket defective Likebook Mars. I had ordered it via Aliexpress, it was shipped from Spain.
After I described the problems to the seller via Aliexpress, I was asked to send it to China.
I sent it cheap from Germany as a letter by registered mail. Not as a package. After I sent the shipment ID to the seller, I got a new one from Spain.
Good service, I am satisfied.

Why does a working Wi-Fi drain the battery so much? I think it's not normal. My smartphone lives much longer on a single charge.
