Paperwhite 4 on sale now for $89.99

I got this a few weeks ago when it dropped to $99. I guess I should have waited. I don't recall Amazon ever discounting a new device like this.

I think $90 was the price they were selling the Paperwhite 3 for during the Black Friday through after New Years. I don't think the PW 4 went on sale until the PW 3s disappeared again (about the time it would have sold for $100). I'm surprised to see this price also. (But they say it's one day sale only.) If I didn't already have like 4,000 eReaders ...

The newest Paperwhite was $99 on Dec. 16th. Many of the tech blogs still show the info.

At any rate, $90 is a good deal for the newest Paperwhite. ($110 if like me you can't stand ads.)

PW3 was $79 Black Friday onwards until it ran out then the PW4 went on sale for $99. If the PW4 was ever $89, pricing might have been limited for select customers only.

You're right. I've got a good memory, but it's short. That was a REALLY good deal on the PW3s. (Really good for the PW4s as well, but I think this sale is going away quickly — I'm assuming the "today only" blurb for the Essentials Bundle applies to the PW4 as well.)

You get pretty nonchalant about these sales however, as it seems they come back quite a bit (except when you actually want to buy a Kindle).

Lol, only reason I even remembered was because I bought a PW3 (after Amazon dropped non-SO version to $80). That PW3 was the source of the 5.9.6.1 factory firmware.

Price is definitely tempting but I have three PW4's already and I think four or five PW3's...

How do you manage each or are they loaded the same?

1. PW3 (32GB black) - registered, used mostly for normal books and Amazon purchases/borrows, loaded/synced over wifi (Amazon or Calibre server)

I use different cases to help identify devices. I usually carry one registered and one unregistered Kindle in my purse.

The sideloaded fanfic are identical. I use Calibre to create a "master" copy of my TBR pile on my SSD which then gets synced to the Kindles' documents folder. I just manually remember last read position.

Rest are jail broken, powered down and sitting inside the drawer as backup in case Amazon manages to completely block jail breaking in future.
