Strange Behavior

Hello,
when launching Calibre i recently started getting the initialization window (as normal) then the program flashes on my screen for a split second and disappears (shuts down). I tried installing the latest version from the web site (calibre-3.31.0) in an effort to correct the problem, no change. Has anyone had any experience with this issue? Or have any idea as to what i might do to correct the problem?

Problem solved!... or at least the issue has been identified. It was my phone/cable, after removing the cable calibre loaded properly.
