Well I dropped my new kobo on the concrete today and it survived. Kobo vs kindle vs glowlight 3: The kobo is more yellow of screen but much more clear and uniform than the kobo and the nook. The nook always looks blueish and darker on the edges. The store experience is great on the nook but the store on the Aura seems kinda basic and drab but I like the better customization of font, line spacing,... etc on the Aura. Much more options under the menu/settings on the kobo. I also like how your side loaded books show as a seperate category on the home screen. The kobo seems to be more faster and responsive than the nook and my two kindles. much lighter than any nook or kindle I ever owned. Much lighter and thinner than the paperwhite. Battery seems to be outstanding. Overall the Aura Edition 2 is a really good little device. ll it needs is buttons and the orange night tint like my nook |

There is an "Imported" filter in the book lists, but that isn't displayed directly on the home screen. | |

I saw the no family or friends/ can’t deliver to work, didn’t see Amazon refused to deliver to lockers. The purpose of the lockers was supposed to be for situations like this.

She said this in a different thread. But I agree with what you're saying. I don't understand why Amazon won't accommodate her here. It sounds like she has a really difficult situation in her neighborhood.

I’ll say! If delivered to home there is high risk of being stolen, so can’t deliver anything to home. No friends, family or landlord in the area to deliver to. Doesn’t trust or communicate with neighbors to deliver to. Can’t arrange delivery to her work address. No spouse or can’t arrange deliver to spouse’s work address. Amazon refuses, or there is no Amazon locker service in her area to deliver to/pick up from. Cannot ask post office to hold for pickup. Cannot send to a FedEX drop/pickup location (many local businesses). She is basically the exception to 99.99% of America, and she’s screwed, but I doubt there are many people who are similar to her. |

They got the Kobo display up in another Walmart in my area. Still no Aura 2 device or tablet in the "clamps" and no electricity yet on this one, so the display's LCD screen display is not working. In this store they just stuck it in the middle of the book aisle — it really doesn't stand out at all. They must have just put it up earlier today because bits of the packaging left littering the floor. Along with the packaging litter there was an instruction sheet about setting up the display. Apparently Walmart employees aren't involved at all. An outside merchandising firm is setting up the displays and will be "merchandising" the display on a weekly basis. So don't expect the employees to know much about what is going on. The display hardly stands out at all in the aisle. It would be even less impressive if this was one of the stores with the "4 foot display," (instead of the 8 foot one) as it would be even easier to walk right by it without seeing it. If this is all the effort Walmart is going to put into the in-store, eBook display I'm kind of wondering, "why bother?" I guess I expected more. Though I should say, this does appear to a temporary, "stop-gap" set up. The instruction sheet says the category ("digital") is not yet included in the floorplan but will be added by week 16 of 2019, which would be mid-April. So maybe better things are on the way. I added three pictures. The right side of the aisle backs up to the locked game console display in the Electronics Department. The left side backs up to the Shoe Department. Before the Kobo display was installed, the aisle at the back wall used to be opened to the Shoe Department, so they just opened a space for the 8 foot Kobo display — in this store they didn't lose any book display space. Expect to see those pics on GoodEreader in about three hours. I'm pretty sure they already used Flaneurette's NYT ad picture in this article: Did Walmart just leak the new Kobo e-reader?
