Is there an effort to better support pen function in 3rd party applications (onenote, Evernote, etc)?

Yes,

this feature (better performance of the stylus in third party apps) is on the task list with high priority. Once the 1.9.0 with new annotation app and features in Neo reader has been released, this task is on the very first position.

Now then, if the stylus performance seen with the Max 2's 'built-in' apps can be supported to the same extent - i.e. very good indeed - with 3rd-party apps this device will surely take a huge leap forward in it's usability and reputation!

The ability to use the stylus properly with for example Onenote is a very attractive idea indeed.....

I hope the previously announced Note with HDMI has not been forgotten... It would be really neat to use the Note as a secondary screen.

How about software upgrades for N96ML and others which have been stuck on 1.8.2 for well over a year now? Can we expect anything or have the devices been abandoned?

The update to 1.8.3 for N96 series will be released in 2 weeks. Update to 1.9.0 is in discussion. Too many tasks and feature requests for new products must be processed at the moment and our man power resources are limited.

The 10.3 Note with front light will be rather not available soon. It is not easy to mount front light layer on a flexible screen and offer an evenly spread light on it. However another version of Note called Note SL should be available soon. It is a 9.7" device with glass screen and light layer. It was announced previously as Canvas. Onyx decided to call this series Note S.

The Note S will have worse resolution (compared to regular Note) correct?

I know... but 9,7" device is worst in resolution, memory...
I guess you can not have everything

Thanks for the info, I guess I will get a Note once I see some progress on the firmware front. Onyx is really slow and inefficient in that area and I think much of it has to do with the fact that they just keep pushing out new devices with new components.
Your other comment makes me less hopeful...
